THREADS™ can operate in either of two configurations:

• in a client/server configuration where data is shared by multiple investigators using separate computers connected to a common database
• on a standalone laptop or desktop computer.

The specific system requirements depend on the configuration.

Operating System Browser Database Processor Hard Drive (Free Space) RAM

Windows 2003 Server SP 1, XP SP 2, or Vista Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 or later SQL Express (included with THREADS™) for small databases; otherwise SQL Server 2005 or later Workgroup Edition 1.5 GHz Pentium 4 (or equivalent).  SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition will utilize both processors in a dual processor machine. 3 GB for full installation of SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition, plus storage of all data files (depends on the quantity and sizes of files stored) 2 GB
